Multiple zones across the city witnessed traffic delays on Monday afternoon as intense rainfall led to waterlogging at key junctions. The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) area was issued a thunderstorm alert from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM, with rainfall expected between 50 to 60 mm.
According to Hyderabad Traffic Police, several arterial roads are currently facing slow vehicular movement due to rain-induced flooding. Commuters are urged to postpone travel unless essential.
Traffic has slowed significantly between SD Hospital and NMDC, affecting routes from Mehdipatnam, Masabtank flyover, and Mahaveer Hospital towards Ayodhya Junction. Officials are monitoring the situation closely.
At Shaikpet nala flyover, congestion has built up due to stagnant water. Tolichowki traffic personnel are actively diverting vehicles to reduce hold-ups in the area.
Elsewhere, similar issues were reported near Jubilee Hills Check Post, extending towards Sagar Society. Jubilee Hills traffic authorities are facilitating flow and advising alternate travel routes.
Slowdowns were also reported in and around Mehdi Function Hall, with Saifabad police deployed to manage traffic conditions. MRC Road No.12 in Banjara Hills faced disruption due to clogged drainage, prompting local police to advise detours.
Additional problem spots include:
* NMDC and 1/12 Junctions under Banjara Hills zone
* Ayodhya Junction and adjacent areas, overseen by Saifabad division
* KCP and NFCL junctions, where Panjagutta police are managing diversions
* NMDC Junction under Asif Nagar limits
